Accessibility Statement
We want everyone to be able to use NPC Weather.
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Our goal: North Point Computers wants NPC Weather to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, or other assistive tools. If any part is hard to use, please tell us and we will fix it.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1, level AA. This is a goal we keep working toward. It is not a claim that every part is perfect.
What we have built in
- A "skip to content" link so keyboard users can jump past the menu.
- Clear headings and page landmarks so screen readers can move around easily.
- Labels on buttons and controls, like the city picker and the theme buttons.
- Live weather updates that are announced to screen readers when they change.
- A visible outline on whatever you have selected when you move with the keyboard.
- Light, dark, and auto themes, with text and background colors checked for AA contrast in each one.
- Respect for the "reduce motion" setting, so we cut animations if you ask your device for less motion.
- A no-JavaScript fallback that points to official weather sources if scripts are turned off.
Where we still fall short
Some parts of the page load live data with JavaScript. If JavaScript is off, you will see a short message with links to official sources instead. We also link to other websites and maps that we do not control, and those may be harder to use. We are always improving.
Tell us about a problem
If something is hard to use, please tell us. Email [email protected]. Tell us the page you were on and what went wrong. If you can, include the device and browser you used.
What we will do
We read every message. We will try to fix problems quickly. If you need the weather information another way while we work on it, we will help you get it.
